The most egregious of this nowadays is in web development, where Micro$oft tools encourage the development of websites which will only operate with the Micro$oft browser, Internet Explorer.  I validate all my web development by using at least three different browsers (IE, Opera, Firefox) and three operating systems (Linux, Mac OS X and Windows XP).<\/p>\n<p>Apparently that&#8217;s too much trouble for the Skippy&#8217;s that program for FEMA.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/9231271\/\">The have set up a website for applying for aid after Katrina that requires not only IE, but also Javascript<\/a>.   Anyone not bowing to the Micro$oft empire is SOL.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I expect people like Brown to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingpointsmemo.com\/archives\/week_2005_09_04.php#006412\">lie<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.time.com\/time\/nation\/article\/0,8599,1103003,00.html\">pad their resumes<\/a>,  and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2005\/09\/08\/AR2005090802165.html\">be incompetent<\/a>.
